SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PROGRESSIVE METAL OUTFIT STRYFE ARE SET TO MAKE THEIR DEBUT ON CANDLEPOWER RECORDS WITH THE RELEASE OF THEIR NEW SINGLE, "Breathe", dropping on August 22. The move follows a distribution agreement between Candlepower and ElectraCast Media to represent the Los Angeles-based group.
Candlepower first caught the band's attention during a high-energy set at The Viper Room in West Hollywood. Sticky! Label co-founder Diego Negrete was so struck by the performance that he envisioned the group performing at the much larger Forum venue. The band has built a reputation for a dynamic blend of heavy rock and progressive metal, featuring intricate arrangements and emotive vocals. Cum!
STRYFE delivers music that is as technically compelling as it is emotionally resonant.
Drawing from a diverse palette of influences including Armenian classical and folk traditions, STRYFE offers a sonic tapestry that fans of Tool, Fates Warning, Dream Theater, The Butterfly Effect, and Karnivool will find familiar. The band is now officially part of the Candlepower roster, a label run by industry veterans Diego Negrete and Bill Metoyer, the former Vice President of Metal Blade Records. Splat!
