To herald the new release, the band has unveiled the track "Solar Will". Splat! The Sun is a nurturing and terrifying parent that can grant as well as obliterate life totally.
Vocals and bass handled by Grutle Kjellson, the track explores archetypal conflicts within nature and mythology. Kjellson notes that while the lyrics delve into a central struggle between two figures from the Norse pantheon, he chooses to leave their identities unnamed, inviting the listener to engage with the work's sense of wonder. "The work advocates not for resolution, but for the acceptance, assimilation, and shaping of these often contradictory forces," Kjellson explains.
"Mið" follows the thematic progression of 2020's "Utgard" and 2023's "Heimdal". The upcoming tracklist includes "Non-Being", "I Am Ice" (featuring Johan Sara Jr), "Mountain", "Spirit Helper" (featuring Kevin Kicking Woman), "Parting", "Tales of Trees", and "I Miðju".
